I have been wanting to burst at the seams with excitement for the last couple weeks! Since I founded Compliment in 2011, it has been my goal to give back in a significant way to young women in my community.  I am overcome with joy because today, I shout from the rooftops, that we are awarding two $350 cash awards (plus $100 in additional prizes) to two beautiful and talented local ladies from the Class of 2013.  First, I rounded up a group of amazing Sacramento women who own their own businesses and are making an impact on our community....

Nicole is the brains and beauty behind An Eye For Pretty, a design service that helps busy women create beautiful spaces in their daily environments.  But that's not all!  I think one of the reasons why Nicole and I click so much is that she is also totally multi-passionate.  She is a teacher (hello, kindred spirit!) a mom, a wife and a friend.

A few months ago, beautiful bride-to-be, Michele, asked if I'd be willing to customize a few pieces for her bridesmaids to wear at her wedding.  I jumped at the chance! I was so grateful that Michele thought to ask when she didn't see the exact thing she was looking for in the shop.  I absolutely LOVE working with clients to create a custom look that is just what they envision.

I have absolutely zero proof to back up this claim, but I think the play-on-words that is the phrase "LIFE'S A BEACH," was meant to turn the outlook of the grumpy and pessimistic (who may be known for saying "life's a b*tch) into something much happier, calmer, and fun.  (If you know the real story, jump over to the Compliment Facebook page and let me know!)
