A few months ago, beautiful bride-to-be, Michele, asked if I'd be willing to customize a few pieces for her bridesmaids to wear at her wedding.
I jumped at the chance! I was so grateful that Michele thought to ask when she didn't see the exact thing she was looking for in the shop.
I absolutely LOVE working with clients to create a custom look that is just what they envision. Personal touch is really what sets Compliment apart. Especially when it comes to gifts!
Michele loved the idea of a necklace and earring set that used freshwater pearls. There was just one issue-- she lives in Maryland and I live in California. How would we ever arrive at a design without meeting? Enter: THE POWER OF THE INTERNET AND ONLINE COLLABORATIONS! :)
Here's how we used super-simple, online tools to collaborate as we worked out the perfect design for Michele and her girls.
1. We both hopped on over to Pinterest and created a private board for pinning images that just she and I could see (we wouldn't want her bridesmaids seeing our brainstorm, now would we?!)
2. She pinned pics of her bridesmaid dresses, images that represented the overall color palette of the wedding, pics of her flowers, anything that could give me a better idea of her overall aesthetic.
3. I pinned images of jewelry from my shop that I thought would correspond with the look she was going for.
4. We emailed, chatted on Facebook, and texted ideas back and forth to come up with ideas of how we might modify my designs to fit what she was going for.
5. I created a mock-up of the necklace and earrings, took a pic and emailed it to her.
We continued on like that until we got to the achieved look-- a perfect combination of her vision and my interpretation. I think they turned out beautifully, don't you?
