Well hello there, friends. Welcome to our new and improved shop! Let me shout it from the rooftops, I redesigned this site with the incredible help of Ms. Amy Cluck. She is lovely and talented and you can learn more about her on her adorable blog, Amy is the Party. Thank you, Amy!
If you've been hanging out with Compliment over the last year, you'll notice that there are lots of changes around here. As I mentioned in an email I sent out to our faithful, 2012 in my world definitely had its share of torrential ups and downs. My family experienced a tremendous amount of loss, which made my little-business-that-could seem terribly frivolous at times.
But the funny thing about grief is that our responsibility to others can help pull us out of it, even if only momentarily. These last few months have been tough ones personally, but Compliment was an incredible distraction from the sadness. I am so very grateful for those of you who found Compliment to be the perfect way to tell your mom, "you are loved," or your sister, "you are fabulous," or your best friend, "you are my rock," or your co-worker, "you are my inspiration." (All real compliments I've sent out in the last couple weeks!) As I hand-stamped each of these cards to include in the gift boxes, feverishly trying to get out all my holiday orders on time, I stopped and marveled at what a blessing it is to be able to share those little sentiments of love with all of you, all around the country.
So, thank you. Truly.
And while we are on the gratitude note, let me thank all of you again for making Compliment's first year far more than I could have ever dreamed.

And now here we are, a few weeks into 2013, and things are good. Being a person of faith and not superstition (except during baseball season--GO GIANTS), I feel a wee embarrassed to admit that I say "things are good" with a bit of anxiety. It's hard breaking yourself out of the habit of waiting for the other shoe to drop. So confidently, I rewind, and profess, THINGS ARE GOOD! AND I'M GRATEFUL! I can't wait for you to poke around this place and see just how much easier your shopping experience will be. (HELLO, BIGGER PICTURES!)
