Preparing for the Festive Season

Preparing for the Festive Season

It’s quarter four, and I’m sure you don’t need another person to tell you this. But I’m still going to. The holiday season is a busy season for my gifting business, and while any entrepreneur would be happy, I am also a woman, a wife, and a mother. On any given day, things can get a little crazy. Add to that gifts for all the important people in your life and limited time to choose, wrap and gift them, and ‘a little crazy’ becomes an understatement.

As we head into a time of big sales and shopping, I wanted to remind you to take care. Take care of your wellbeing and your wallet. Do what makes the most sense for you and your family, and the ways in which you celebrate seasons of giving. If you’re feeling a little frazzled or don’t know how you’re going to cover the gifts this year, grab a pen and notebook,  we’re going to make this work!

So, what are we doing?

If you don’t know what you’re doing for gifts this year, now’s the time to decide! Putting it off will only save stress for later and take the joy out of giving. Whether you choose no gifts, some gifts or only homemade gifts - a plan is better than no plan. Once YOU know what’s happening, you can get the family involved and excited.

Who are we gifting?

Whether you’re gifting four people or forty people, write it down. While you could possibly remember it all, you don’t have to. Keep your list handy and tick names off as you purchase. If you’re doing Secret Santa, now’s a good time to draw names.

Don’t forget the people who help you all year.

If you’re like me, I have ideas for my husband, kids, parents, siblings, and besties already in mind early in the season.  But there are a ton of other people who I love and keep me and my family going throughout the year that I don’t want to forget.

I designed this handy little checklist to keep track of all the peeps on your list.

My hair stylist.

My kids’ nanny (and their teachers as they get older).

Our neighbors who have saved us in a pinch time and time again.

My colleagues.

My special clients.

It doesn’t have to be big.  But it should be meaningful.

Having small babies and being a working mom, I know how to stretch a dollar, especially at the holidays.

That’s why we’ve made it so easy to take care of a ton of people on your list without breaking the bank.  We have a whole section of gifts under $30. And the best part? Personalization of the compliments we include inside the box is ALWAYS free.

Know what that means?

You are able to include a heartfelt message with your gift.  You get to make it meaningful and still stick to your budget.

And your gifting has a purpose.  Shopping at Compliment not only means you’re dollars make a SIGNIFICANT impact for a small business, but also for the young women we employ, and the girls we support through our scholarship program.

Your gifting can actually make a huge difference to the lives of more than just the person whose name is on the package under the tree.
